I make a point of reading literature from places I visit, and I try to choose important locations in which to do that reading while I’m traveling. I went to Vienna and met up with Rilke while there, for the LARB.

I have the great delight to write about one of my passions, literary tourism, through the lens of another love, drinking, for the Los Angeles Review of Books. This is the first in that series, about Raymond Chandler.

As I start thinking ahead to this Spring’s trip to Portugal, I thought it only right to share my write up of last year’s gathering of the “most beautiful bookstores in the world” that I wrote for LitHub.
